LONDONDERRY SC - United
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Londonderry SC - United?

Londonderry SC - United (LSC United) is a competitive Londonderry travel soccer program for boys and girls ages 7-18. We are a volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to providing our community with a positive youth soccer environment. LSC United is affiliated with the US Youth Soccer AssociationNH Soccer Association and NH Soccer League . We also participate in the Early Development Program (EDP), which focuses on fun and skills development for young players. Our program supports fall/spring outdoor seasons in the NewHampshire soccer league, holiday tournaments, indoor sessions, skills training, summer camps, and the best soccer fields in New Hampshire!

How do I know for which team my child should play?
All teams in LSC United play age appropriate.  For the current age matrix please click here.
Does my son or daughter have to try out for a team?
Tryouts are required for U10 teams and above. For the younger ages (U7, U8 and U9), we will assign new players to existing teams or create new teams depending on the number of signups.
What should I expect from tryouts?
Coaches will run a series of drills and small-sided games in order to evaluate players by athletic ability, technical skill, effort, attitude, and game aptitude. After tryouts are completed, coaches for each age group will meet and determine the number of teams and the roster for each. Typically, coaches will notify parents about their child’s selection within two weeks after tryouts.
What happens if my son or daughter doesn’t make a team?
Londonderry also offers a recreational soccer program that offers opportunities for all players. Additionally, we would urge your child to attend local camps as offered. We would encourage your son or daughter to keep working on their game and try again next year!
How much does the program cost?
Registration fees for the 2015/2016 season can be found here.
How long is the season and when does it start?
Practices for the fall season begin in mid-August.  League games begin in early September and run through October. Teams typically play 8 games in the fall, plus playoffs for U13 and older divisions. The spring season begins in mid-April and runs through mid-June. League games can be played on either Saturday or Sunday.
What’s the time commitment?
U8-U9 teams have two one hour trainings a week with Mark Ruest, an A Licensed trainer, Olympic development program coach, and former Director of Coaching for NH.  U10 and above generally practice two nights a week for 90 minutes. Teams typically play one or two games each weekend during the season. LUSC teams also play in weekend tournaments on Labor Day and typically Columbus Day in the fall and Memorial Day in the spring.
What about the “travel” part?
LSC United teams play in the New Hampshire Soccer League, facing other teams in the state. Most away games are within a 1 hour drive. Some teams may travel further for holiday tournaments – Massachusetts, Vermont and Maine all have tournaments in which LSC United teams have competed in the past. Tournaments are determined by the coaches.
